Continuing the Process: Using Your Portfolio During Your First Years of Teaching

Now that you understand the portfolio process, consider continuing to build your portfolio. Try using a different set of standards. Perhaps your school system has a set of standards. If not, you may want to use the standards from a professional organization such as NCSS, NCTM, etc., or create your own personal set of standards. Continue to collect and reflect on teaching and learning in your classroom.

Whether you are a preservice teacher, an inservice teacher, or a university faculty member, the portfolio development process is a growth experience. And hopefully, it is a good experience, too.
