Portfolio Presentation

The presentation sequence is broken down into five parts and will take approximately one and one half hour. The parts of the presentation include the following:
  • The Portfolio Presentation
  • Questions from Review Team Members
  • Review Team Deliberation
  • Portfolio Feedback


These parts of the presentation sequence are explained in the five sections of the Presentation Phase.

Presentation
This is the time to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you have learned and developed as an educator through the program and your student teaching experience. You will have no more than thirty minutes to present your portfolio. Your portfolio presentation should include the following:

Undergraduate Portfolios

  • Table of Contents
  • Letter of Introduction
  • A Description of the Internship
  • Your Educational Philosophy
  • Resume
  • Transcripts
  • Praxis Results
  • Evaluations
  • Commendations/Recommendations
  • INTASC Principles with artifiacts and reflections

M.A.T.

  • Introduction of yourself and your internship placement
  • A brief summary of your educational philosophy
  • Your strengths as they relate to your educational philosophy
  • Your strengths as an educator
  • Areas that need further development
  • Your goals as an educator and your professional development plan for attaining your goals.
  • Artifacts relating to the 10 INTASC Principles and reflections

Questioning
During this time, the review team of three persons will ask you questions about your portfolio, your knowledge, and/or your presentation..

Expect questions specific to your portfolio presentation and general questions about your teaching and internship. After a question is asked, you make take a moment to think before answering the questions. You should answer the question that is asked and refer to your portfolio, if possible, when answering questions.

At the conclusion of the questioning phase, you will be excused for review team deliberation.

Deliberation
The review team will review and discuss your presentation and answers to the questions to determine your final scores. The review team will also rate your oral presentation and your action research. The review will provde recommendations and/or commendations.

Feedback
The feedback session is conducted by the PDS Coordinators a week after the review process. At this time, students are given a written summary of their portfolio discussing the strengths, the presentation, recommendations and any requirements that the review team felt were necessary. At this time, students are also given the overall grade for thier portfolio.
