All portfolios use a set of standards to guide development. We use the INTASC principles. This section of the portfolio is divided into 10 sections, each representing the teacher candidate's ability to address a particular principle.
Each portfolio section includes a Rationale page that includes:

• The INTASC principles being met
• The candidate's personal interpretation of the principle
• The artifacts being used
• A rationale for each artifact that illustrates the candidate's ability to reflect, analyze and make connection to the INTASC principles
  

For each of the 10 INTASC principles, candidates provide 2-3 artifacts with rationales.
